A little about me..
My name is Mike Provencher
You say it like Pro-Von-Shay with the accent on the second syllable.
I’ve been a Hendersonville, TN resident since 1999 when I moved here with my family after
spending several years in the Western United States, in a small town called Elko, Nevada
where my two sons Jacob and Nicholas were born.
Growing up and going to high school and college in Tennessee,
my wife and I longed for the water and the trees that we just couldn’t get in the high-desert of
Nevada, so we moved back and are so glad that we did. We consider Middle Tennessee our
home and hope to be here for a long time.
I have created Improv Photo to provide an
outlet for my creative side. Why Improv?? Well, I was a music major at the
University of Tennessee in Knoxville where I studied classical and America’s
music, JAZZ. With jazz, you have a theme that is the basis of the song,
normally the melody or some chord changes and you can improvise your own
melodies over this structure.
Photography is much the same in my opinion.
You have a known structure, namely kids, families and individuals, but we’re
all a little different and behave a little differently. When I’m
photographing two toddlers, or a family with a young baby and a dog, there
is a lot of IMPROV going on to capture those special moments, of course
within the structure of sound photographic technique.
Bottom line, I love to create images that will be a cherished
part of your family for many years to come. I hope that you will
contact me so that we may work together to do just that, create some beautiful images.
