52 Paintings Week 1

I was in a painting class back in October, in fact, the class was with one of the foremost experts with Painter X and quite a gifted artist, Marilyn Sholin, see Marilyn’s web here. I really haven’t been painting very much since the class and was feeling bad to be squandering what I’ve learned so far, which is why I’ve challenged myself to create 52 paintings for 2009….that’s one per week….yikes. Since I’ve made this declaration public, I’ll be forced to follow through and create the paintings won’t I? Hopefully I will learn some things about Painter X and about creating digital art along the way.

Week one’s painting is from a photograph I made at the McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach Florida. On exhibit was the art work of Hans Godo Frabel who created these amazing glass figures, in fact, according to the Frabel site, there were over 200 Frabel sculptures there, his largest exhibition to date.

Thanks for looking, your comments are appreciated.

MP

Dawn - I’m very impressed but not surprised. Keep it going and when my gallery opens I challenge you to a exhibit coupled with a workshop from Marilyn ( I just got on her list). It’s a good year to do all that we are able!

This glass artist is indeed fabulous… his work is incredible. I like what you have done with it in your painting.

See you on the forums…
